At Bidvest Mobility, we believe that technology should be inclusive, empowering, and life-changing. That belief recently came to life through a meaningful partnership with the South African National Council for the Blind (SANCB).

We are proud to have donated two SEVA Personalised AI Smart Glasses to SANCB’s Assistive Technology Centre (ATC)—a forward-thinking hub in Pretoria dedicated to enabling greater independence for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Empowering Through Innovation

The SEVA Smart Glasses are more than just devices—they're tools of transformation. These AI-powered wearables assist with real-time navigation, object and product recognition, facial identification, text-to-speech for printed materials, and hands-free voice control. This technology opens new doors for education, employment, mobility, and daily living.

Supporting a Larger Vision

This donation also plays a vital role in launching SANCB’s new Assistive Technology Assessment Hub—an innovative platform designed to:

  • Promote awareness of advanced assistive devices

  • Offer hands-on evaluations for learners, job seekers, and professionals

  • Provide usability feedback to developers from African users

  • Champion inclusive innovation and digital equity

Dr Ashley Subbiah, Manager of the ATC, shared, “This isn’t just a handover of equipment—it’s a handover of possibilities. It allows us to empower people and promote true digital equity.”

Creating a More Inclusive Tomorrow

This initiative represents a key step in Bidvest Mobility’s commitment to driving accessibility and inclusion through meaningful technology. We are honoured to support SANCB’s efforts and proud to be part of a movement that’s helping to reshape lives through innovation.

We invite you to visit the Assistive Technology Centre in Pretoria and experience firsthand how SEVA Smart Glasses are redefining what's possible for the blind and visually impaired.
