All-in-one Cubetape C200 provides integrated scanning and measuring of LTL and Masterdata dimensions.
Parceltools, a world leader in the design and development of hand-held LTL (Less Than Truck Load) and Masterdata scanning and measuring devices, today rolled out the next generation of its Cubetape hand-held devices that combines measuring and bar-coded scanning in one.
The Cubetape C200 device allows users to integrate measuring (mobile dimensioning) and scanning, and to do so with a mobile design. Users scanning barcodes on a parcel, or a pallet simply use the scanning function with the measuring tape in the “home” position. The dimensioning function is easily enabled by using the measuring tape as normal and then pressing the “scan” button to scan and save the measurement from the tape.
All data is exported in real time using Bluetooth or WLAN.
The C200 offers three pathways to a superior value proposition for users:
Carrier revenue protection. Carriers must measure items in their depot to ensure correct dimensions from the shipper or 3PL. With its mobile design, Cubetape C200 complements existing fixed-position cubing and weighing machines by measuring items that may not fit into fixed-position cubing machines.
Warehouse shipping and receiving. It is critical to quickly and accurately measure any item moving in and out of a warehouse to avoid time-wasting bottlenecks. The C200s increased accuracy ensures that outgoing freight charges are correct and that costly chargebacks are avoided.
Masterdata. Each SKU in a warehouse must be entered into an ERP’s Warehouse Management System quickly and error-free. In addition, this valuable database must be regularly maintained as product box dimensions change with time. The combination of data entry and system maintenance can be done using the Cubetape 200 in combination with a bench scale. Parceltools can provide the software needed for stand-alone and networked solutions.
